Solar Inverters convert DC power to AC power.

In solar systems the power is stored in batteries for future use. The batteries in the system are usually 12 or 24 volt DC. Some appliances run on DC power and can draw the power directly from the battery, other appliances need to run on AC power and the power must be converted to AC to run these products.

A solar Inverter allows you to convert the DC power taken from the batteries into AC power to run AC powered products such as laptop computers. Lights can run on DC power and draw it straight from the batteries were as power for a laptop computer must be passed through a Inverter first.
